We are hiring a Development Officer

We are seeking a new member of staff to help deliver our ambitious fundraising plans, joining at an exciting time of strategic growth and renewal now that international travel can resume.

You will support our Director of Development in implementing our Development Strategy by increasing income from trusts and foundations, major donors, individual givers and other funding sources through developing long-term relationships and maximising income.

The successful applicant

We are seeking an excellent communicator with a proactive, confident, positive approach and strong interpersonal skills who is able to effectively represent the interests of The Churchill Fellowship externally.

Most importantly, you will have a genuine commitment to the values and ethos of The Churchill Fellowship, an interest in current affairs and curiosity about the world.

Applicants must have:

  • A track record of success in applying for and managing grants from trusts, foundations, major donors or similar.
  • Creativity in identifying opportunities and demonstrable research skills relating to funding opportunities and prospect research.
  • Effective negotiation skills and experience of negotiating with colleagues and external contacts.
  • Good numeracy skills, keen attention to detail.
  • Competency with standard Microsoft packages, plus ideally with customer relationship management databases.

The practicalities

Part-time two days a week. Salary c. £14,000 pa depending on experience (full-time equivalent pay £35,000 pa).

The role is a hybrid of office and home working. You will be expected to work in our Westminster office for a minimum of 4 days a month for team building and collaboration with colleagues. At certain times of the year, it will be necessary to work in the office more to deliver projects and to support the wider team.
