Biography

I am an inclusion manager within an alternative provision, and alongside this role I am the founder of The Long Game - a nationwide project that educates young people about exploitation while equipping professionals with the skills they need to tackle it head on.

The focus of my Fellowship is youth employment and criminal exploitation. Having been criminally exploited myself, I understand how it feels to be trapped in a relationship with no way out. This lived experience drives my commitment to creating safer pathways for young people. I aim to deepen my understanding of criminal exploitation and explore whether youth employment policies play a role in reducing vulnerability. I will examine how other countries, including Canada, Portugal and Germany, approach this issue. All three have relaxed drug laws in some form, and I hope to learn how they have managed these changes and what the long-term impacts have been for young people.

Ultimately, my goal is to demonstrate that we can make legitimate employment more accessible for young people while also reducing the risk of criminal exploitation.
