This theme covers topics relating to strengthening cohesion and communication, tackling isolation and supporting community engagement for migrant communities in the UK. Many Fellows have undertaken projects addressing this over the years including as part of our recent programme of Fellowships on migration, developed in partnership with The Linbury Trust, which ran during 2017-2019.

Refugee worker Rosemary Brown (CF 2019) has helped to organise a dance performance this month with clients at the Islington Centre for Refugees and Migrants and Care4Calais where she volunteers. Rosemary’s Fellowship explored ways of teaching migrants their host country's language for community participation.

The report draws upon knowledge gathered as part of Freya’s Covid-19 Action Fund project.

Fellows' updates September 2021 Fellows' update: Mohammed Dhalech
Mohammed Dhalech (CF 2019) was invited by Natural England to help launch a new stretch of England's coastal path in Cumbria this month. Mohammed additionally gave a talk on inclusion at the launch event, about how to make the countryside and outdoors accessible to people from minoritised racial communities.
