Biography
I am Managing Director Europe at GeoKiln, a green hydrogen company backed by Breakthrough Energy. I have spent over two decades working in energy, including senior roles at Shell and BP, and I have repeatedly seen major green infrastructure projects, from solar farms to onshore wind, stalled for years, and sometimes killed entirely, by community and regulatory conflict.
The global transition to net zero requires an estimated $3.5 trillion in annual capital spending. That figure assumes the money is deployed efficiently. It rarely is.
My Fellowship will take me to Chile, Norway and Japan to understand how the best project teams manage conflict and keep programmes on schedule. These three countries represent very different operating environments, political cultures and approaches to the energy transition, which is precisely why learning them all is valuable. The output will be a publicly available benchmarking report on best practice for reducing delay. I want to bring back the keys to enable better decision making, faster delivery and genuine community buy-in.
