Biography

I am a Regional Manager for Kidscape, an anti-bullying charity, having previously worked in education for 24 years.

My Fellowship allowed me to explore the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program across four states in the USA, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Montana and California, visiting 11 schools, as well as a school on a Native American reservation, a school in the Amish community, a youth prison, and a maximum-security prison.

I implemented aspects of the OBPP in my school back in the UK, which received a runner-up award, and went on to work with the Welsh Government on revising the statutory anti-bullying Rights, respect, equality guidance. I continue to work with the Welsh Government in my current role in sharing good practice with schools on how to implement the guidance in their schools.

I have also spoken in the House of Commons to share my findings from my Fellowship, as well as featuring in a video made by the Equality and Human Rights Commission, talking about the collection of data regarding reported incidents of bullying in schools.

My long-term outcomes when I completed my Fellowship have to some extent been achieved, however, there is still a long way to go.
