Biography
I am a physiotherapist and Founder of Doris Jones, a homecare company I established in 2011 and named after my grandmother. My career has taken me beyond traditional NHS roles, which has given me the freedom to follow my passion for supporting older people to live safely and well at home.
My Fellowship focuses on the role of physiotherapists and support workers in home care. Across the UK, people are living longer and with increasingly complex needs - yet the potential for allied health professionals to make a real difference in home care settings remains largely untapped. Around the world, other countries are ahead of us in developing these roles, and I want to understand what we can learn from them.
I have spent 15 years leading a team of care workers and bringing a therapeutic approach to everything we do. I have seen how the right support at home can transform outcomes for people in their eighties, nineties, and beyond. That experience is what drives me.
I hope to bring back practical, tested ideas that will help create new professional roles in UK home care.
