Biography
I am Specification Manager at Transport for the North, as well as the Chairperson for the Oxfordshire Community Rail Partnership. The focus of my Fellowship is to research interventions to address violence against women and girls (VAWG) on Britain's rail network.
Violence against women and girls on British railways has risen by more than 50% from 2021 to 2023. I will carry out research in Germany and Japan, bringing lessons learned and best practice back to the UK, to enable the best possible approach to tackling the growing issue of VAWG on rail.
Everyone deserves to feel and be safe when travelling by train, and this project will enable rail operators, authorities and other bodies to continue to address this challenge through new research and the implementation of innovative new approaches.
