Biography
I am a writer and political campaigner working on issues of class and representation in the UK. My Fellowship is focused on best practice in including working class people in politics. I will explore nations that have high levels of working class participation in legislature, and where class voting and party loyalties are changing, in order to understand how social attitudes, recruitment practices in political parties and material barriers are influencing factors.
In 2023, I set up Blue Collar Parliament, a campaigning group that addresses the lack of working class people in British politics. My Fellowship will help provide an understanding of the dynamics of profession, class and political allegiance present in other countries that can be used to inform work on increasing working class representation in the UK.
