Biography

In my current role I provide conservation advice to government on various aspects of fisheries management, including the development of the Fisheries Act and associated funding scheme – the Fisheries and Seafood Scheme. Having previously worked for DEFRA, the Marine Management Organisation and the Eastern Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority, I have a wide understanding of the fishing and aquaculture sectors. My current areas of interest are the management of displaced fishing effort, the use of marine planning to deliver improvements in the status of our wider seas, and the use of public money to deliver public goods in the marine environment.
