Biography

I am an established professional artist with over 15 years' experience in dance and movement. I am of mixed heritage, born in Kent, and now based between Leeds, where I studied politics, and my home town Bristol. I began my dance career dancing salsa in clubs and training samba in Brazil, where I paraded in Carnaval as a passista in 2006. I began breaking just before I started my conservatoire training at Trinity Laban and London Contemporary Dance School. As a trained dancer, my performance highlights have included Russell Maliphant Company, Lea Anderson (The Chomondeleys), the London Olympics Opening Ceremony and Southpaw Dance Company.

I am the published author of Journal to Joy and I offer a year-long coaching platform for creatives under the Goddxss Path and Maya Gandaia. As Director of award-winning company Business Yoga (Prestige Award 2020), I am passionate about wellbeing. I have worked with older dancers as part of the Dance On project at Yorkshire Dance. My love for rumba and Afro Brazilian has led to me creating and touring the international Roots of Rumba Festival since 2013, hence my Fellowship.

I was Associate Artist, Dance City and Trinity Laban, Slate World Artist (2020), Pervasive Media Resident and Resident Artist Pavilion Dance South West (2021).
