Biography

As an interdisciplinary practitioner who cares deeply about social justice, I have led high-impact work for more than a decade, addressing complex challenges across civil society, participatory research and central government policy. My Fellowship brings together this professional experience with my personal motivations, rooted in faith, community and nature, to explore how Islamic giving traditions can inspire and engage Muslim communities in restoring nature and taking meaningful climate action in the UK.

I will travel to Indonesia to learn from pioneering 'Green Waqf' and Islamic philanthropy initiatives, including community-led reforestation projects, that are tackling environmental and social challenges. I am excited to see how connecting faith and action can inspire new possibilities for people, nature and climate.
