Biography

I proudly serve as a police officer, dedicating the majority of my career to tackling serious and organised criminality. I work as a sergeant within the Regional Prison Intelligence Unit at the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit. I am driven by the complex challenge of countering nefarious drones. I have had the privilege of incepting a counter-drone team, leading defensive and public safety operations, and collaborating with military, academic, and private sector partners across this niche specialism throughout my career.

My Fellowship focuses on the growing issue of drones smuggling illicit items into prisons. Working in this field, I have seen the harm this causes to vulnerable people, both within our local communities and inside the prison walls. This profound impact drives my motivation to look beyond the UK.

The purpose of my Fellowship is to explore global solutions to this escalating problem. Ultimately, I hope to achieve a safer, more secure environment for prison staff, inmates, and the wider public. I am grateful for this incredible opportunity to represent the UK and help protect our communities.
