Biography

I believe everyone deserves another chance. After getting into a significant amount of debt due to a failed business whilst I was studying at university, I made the choice to break the law and was sentenced to 28 months. During my time in prison, I met some amazing individuals who wanted another chance at being members of our society, but did not think they deserved or would get one. I formed Offploy to reduce reoffending and make society safer by placing people with criminal convictions into meaningful, mentored and sustainable employment.

During my Churchill Fellowship, I will visit Brazil to understand how they have significantly reduced the cost of incarceration by encouraging self-run prisons. I will also visit Singapore and Fiji to understand how they have drastically reduced reoffending through societal acceptance. I hope to embody the values of Sir Winston Churchill on my travels, and do the Fellowship proud.
