Biography

I'm a research clinical psychologist in the Section of Women's Mental Health at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King's College London. I specialise in perinatal and infant mental health and the links between mental health and violence. My research to date has included developing interventions for antenatal depression, evaluating interventions for pregnant couples where there is domestic violence, and exploring the ways that sexual assault referral centres respond to mental health needs.

My Fellowship involved exploring the way that perinatal and infant mental health services are delivered and evaluated in Australia. The aim was to inform developments in services in England, which have expanded considerably since 2016. Since travelling, I have had several opportunities to use the findings. This includes being commissioned to develop a guide for perinatal mental health services about ways to involve and support fathers and partners; being part of an expert reference group for developing an infant mental health pathway in perinatal mental health services; and publishing research articles about the development of mental health interventions for fathers.
