Biography

I am Managing Director of MobiHub Ltd, a transport consultancy that is focused on sustainable transport. MobiHub has geography at its core and I believe that an understanding and application of geographical principles is essential to designing and delivering transport that works for communities. My Fellowship was about public transport, and its purpose was firstly to investigate electronic passenger information systems in this area but it also dealt with the related topics of the link between land use and transport planning, and of high-quality public transport corridors. I became interested in the Fellowship's main topic because I had seen how technology was enabling travel behaviour change: I had also earlier developed the pioneering UK Public Transport Information website in 1996. My Fellowship activity inspired co-authorship of a book in 2001 (Public Transport Information Websites: How to get it Right. A Best Practice Guide) and led to transport consultancy projects in Israel, Nigeria, Indonesia, Kazakhstan and Turkey. It also led to me becoming a chartered geographer in 2019 and hugely increased the relevance of my experience as a transport consultant.
