John C. Bliss held numerous roles during his long and accomplished career, including as second in command at the Fraud Squad, Director of Criminal Law at The Police Staff College, Bramshill, and he was in charge of Criminal Intelligence at The Yard. Furthermore, John C. Bliss set up the Regional Crime Squads, which later morphed into the National Crime Agency.

His Fellowship report was on the Organisation of Criminal Investigation in Some European Forces.
