Biography

I am a survivor of suicide and my journey has been riddled with challenges. In a world marked by poverty and tragedy, I witnessed the devastating impact of suicide on loved ones. The shadow of suicide haunted me, whispering in my mind. Then a brain haemorrhage stole my artistic abilities and pushed me to the brink, knocking on suicide's door.

Recovering from the allure of suicide has been a difficult, lonely journey. I found solace in writing, rewriting my story and reclaiming control. In 2003, I became a therapist, specialising in supporting survivors of suicide, abuse and depression. Shifting my focus in 2013, I engaged in community work, collaborating on grassroots projects and providing narrative-based services to organisations like the Association of Camerados.

Passionate about art and storytelling, I believe everyone holds an incredible transformative story. Through my Fellowship research in the USA, I seek to deepen my passion and explore how purpose-driven creative storytelling can combat suicide. Empowering suicide survivors to guide others in their healing journey is my ultimate goal.
