Biography
I am the Other Government Department (OGD) Senior National Lead within New Futures Network for His Majesty's Prison and Probation Service, with over 20 years of experience in the criminal justice system. My Fellowship focuses on mandating government departments to procure goods and services manufactured in prisons. This approach not only reduces costs through cross-government collaboration - delivering better value for taxpayers - but also creates meaningful work opportunities that upskill individuals in custody and on release, supporting their rehabilitation and reducing reoffending.
I am driven by a passion for social justice and a belief in the power of purposeful activity to transform lives. My experience has shown me the untapped potential within prison industries to contribute to both public sector efficiency and individual reform. Through this Fellowship, I aim to explore international models of prison-based manufacturing and procurement, identify best practices and develop a framework that can be adopted across UK government departments to drive systemic change.
