Biography
I am a freelance, independent documentary maker, radio producer and sound engineer. I am also a writer. My Fellowship focuses on the contemporary culture and recent history of rural communities, specifically ways in which communities can be helped to record and value their own stories.
I intend to use the Fellowship to learn from others doing this work and to develop my practice and skill as a collaborative documentary maker. This will allow me to begin a major UK-based project of collaboratively documenting contemporary rural culture at a time of great change and to reach a wide general (and specifically urban) audience through a radio documentary series and a book.
