Biography

I am a civil servant working for the UK Joint International Policing Hub (JIPH) and the Home Office.

My 2019 Churchill Fellowship makes the case for greater and more coherent UK engagement in the delivery of international police assistance (IPA). In 2019 and early 2020 I travelled to Ottawa, Canada – visiting the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the Canadian Police Arrangement Partners; New York, USA – visiting the UN Police, and the NYPD Domestic and International Liaison Programme; Den Haag, The Netherlands – visiting the Politie and Royal Marechaussee; and Berlin, Germany – visiting the BKA, Bundespolizei and the Bundesinnenministerium (MoI). A third phase of travel is planned.

I have applied the learning and experiences enabled by the Churchill Fellowship to my work for the JIPH and Home Office, informing the development of new IPA structures for the UK. In May 2021, in recognition of this work, specifically the development of the JIPH, I was awarded a commendation by Chief Constable Andy Marsh QPM, the National Police Chiefs' Council's International Lead.

My thanks goes to all who have supported my journey and shared so openly, and to the Fellowship.
