Biography
I'm the Founder and Director of Finding the Flex, a social enterprise that helps local authorities, trusts and schools enable flexischooling so more children can thrive in education. As schools and families seek solutions to growing challenges around attendance and engagement, my work focuses on how greater flexibility can help some children stay connected to their schools while improving their wellbeing.
I'm a parent and former teacher and have seen first-hand the benefits that educational flexibility brings to children, alongside the practical challenges it creates for schools. My Fellowship explores how schools in Singapore and Washington State, USA manage home-school education models. I am particularly interested in how these approaches are experienced by families and school staff, and how equity of access is supported.
By learning from school systems that have delivered educational flexibility at scale, I hope to strengthen the practical guidance and implementation support available to schools in the UK, while contributing to emerging policy and practice.
