Biography
I am an entrepreneur and an ex-banker. As the co-founder of one of India's largest elder care companies, I have tried to scale reliable, affordable care at pace. I am passionate about improving outcomes for families worried about a loved one's care while reducing costs through tech/AI, training and partnerships.
UK adult social care is stretched as we live longer and need more complex care. Hospital beds are often blocked as councils struggle to arrange for quick discharge to home. The industry faces stiff headwinds - funding pressures, political ambivalence, skills shortage and low innovation. All of this affects quality of life for older adults.
I believe we need more community-based social ventures that provide affordable care, create employment, reduce isolation and improve engagement. How do we use more technology and yet not lose the human touch when delivering care? How do we make social care more equitable, empathetic and cost-effective? What are the best long-term care funding models? I will learn about Asian success stories that improve complex care at or near home (eg for dementia or stroke patients) - more effectively, affordably and age-sensitively.
