Biography
I am Founder and CEO of Women's Voice UK, a mental health practitioner, resilience coach, and advocate for women and girls. My Fellowship focuses on preventing female genital mutilation (FGM) and strengthening support for survivors through community-led and survivor-informed approaches.
For many years, I have worked with women and girls affected by trauma, harmful practices, and gender-based violence. My personal and professional experiences have shown me the importance of combining prevention, education, mental health support, and community engagement to create lasting change. This Fellowship will allow me to visit Kenya, Rwanda and Iceland to learn from organisations, practitioners, policymakers and survivors who are leading innovative work to end FGM.
I am motivated by a commitment to protecting girls, amplifying survivor voices, and ensuring that communities are equipped with the knowledge and resources needed to challenge harmful practices. I hope to bring back practical ideas, strengthen international partnerships, and develop more effective approaches that improve prevention and support survivors.
