Biography

I am Acting Deputy Director for Rehabilitation with the Northern Ireland Prison Service. My Fellowship focuses on rehabilitation and reintegration, exploring how different countries measure what supports individuals upon release from prison and helps reduce reoffending in their communities.

Throughout my career, I have been passionate about helping people overcome barriers such as homelessness, unemployment, poor health and social exclusion. While many rehabilitation programmes exist, it can be difficult to know which interventions have the greatest impact. I will visit prisons, correctional services and community organisations across several countries to learn how they measure success and use evidence to improve outcomes.

My aim is to bring back practical ideas that will help strengthen rehabilitation services in Northern Ireland, make better use of limited resources, and support safer communities. I hope the Fellowship will contribute to a better understanding of what works, enabling services to focus on the interventions that make the biggest difference to individuals, families and society.
