Biography
I undertook my Fellowship on the topic of wildlife management in the United States in 1968.
I spent a summer with game and wildlife departments from Maryland to Florida and Texas, Wisconsin to Washington and Utah, studying management by the state rather than our landowner-based system.
I was working for the Game Conservancy and went on to mix journalism with projects for the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (Mauritius, Oman, Himalayas). I was Travel Correspondent of the Daily Mail for 13 years and was twice voted Travel Writer of the Year.
I would like to say a big thank you to the Fellowship and my wonderful US hosts for their support.
