Nick Aitken (CF 2001) has published two books on drystone walling.
His 2025 book, Drystone: A Gathering of Terminology and Technique, draws on his Fellowship, which explored drystone construction from Nova Scotia to New York, and examines how terminology and techniques have evolved since 1700 across Britain, Ireland, the Americas, Europe, Australasia, and beyond.
During the Covid period, he also wrote Dry Stone Walling: Materials and Techniques, a practical guide to the craft.
Both books are available from online booksellers.
