Jemima Lovatt (CF 2025) recently responded to UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCRH) Call for Input addressing the challenges and barriers to the full realisation of the human rights of the people of the Marshall Islands stemming from the State’s nuclear legacy.
Jemima’s response addressed justice measures for the impact of nuclear testing on the environment, people and future generations, the role of international cooperation, the need for engagement with indigenous justice systems, cultural practices and civil society efforts and practices and polices that could be pursued to ensure meaningful participation of all relevant stakeholders.
Jemima’s contribution is available online. The full report will be submitted to the UN Human Rights Council at its sixty-third session.
