June 2026 Fellows' update: Leisa Nichols-Drew

Leisa Nichols-Drew (CF 2018) featured on BBC Morning Live alongside Leanne Lucas, who survived the Southport attack and has since become an advocate for safer kitchen knife design.

The segment discussed the harm caused by pointed kitchen knives and the work of the trauma-informed Lets Be Blunt campaign. It also highlighted safer knife research undertaken at De Montfort University, informed by Leisa's Churchill Fellowship learning from Australia and Canada, and explored growing support for safer knife replacement schemes as part of efforts to reduce knife harm.
