New programme for 2027 Fellowships
This year, we’re delighted to introduce a brand-new Fellowship programme: Civic and democratic engagement. If you have an idea to strengthen democracy, civic participation, or community voice in the UK, this could be the opportunity for you. Applications open on 1 September, so now is a great time to explore our programmes and find the one that works best for your idea.
Event to explore collective action on violence against women and girls
Fellows Nicola Sharp-Jeffs (CF 2016) and Gudrun Burnet-Shields (CF 2016) are organising a one-day event for people working to address violence against women and girls. The event will bring together Churchill Fellows and others in the field to share learning, make connections, and explore opportunities for collaboration.

New Advisory Council Member
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Noel Nelson to our Advisory Council – the expert body that helps shape the direction of our Fellowship.
New Trustees and Chair Designate
The Churchill Fellowship announces it has appointed Marina Brounger and Mark Damazer CBE to its Board of Trustees. In addition, Mark Damazer has been named Chair Designate and will formally take up the position of Chair of Trustees on 1 January 2026, when The Hon. Jeremy Soames concludes his tenure after nine years as Chair.

Fellowship Staff Team Update
We are pleased to announce some exciting changes within the Churchill Fellowship staff team, effective from 1st October. We are proud to share that His Majesty King Charles III has accepted the patronage of the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust. This follows a comprehensive review of patronages previously held by The late Queen, The former Prince of Wales, and The former Duchess of Cornwall.
Landmark report launched advocating for equal child protection
The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health launched a pivotal report at the House of Lords on April 17th. Co-authored by Andrew Rowland (CF 2014), Fellow and member of the Churchill Fellowship Advisory Council, the report advocates for legislative change to ensure equal protection for children across the UK.
