Biography
I am a dressage coach and founder of Northern Ireland Youth Dressage.
My Fellowship was spent mostly in Germany to study the training of dressage horses and dressage judges. As an equestrian coach and rider I had gradually been moving more towards dressage and wanted more knowledge and experience to bring to my work.
Since my Fellowship I have judged at Grand Prix level nationally and mentored many judges as they work their way up the 'lists'. As a Federation Equestre Internationale Pare Equestrian Dressage judge, I have judged at three Paralympic Games as well as a number of European and World Championships. I have travelled the world running courses for para judges, and am delighted that so many of those judges are now at the top internationally.
One of the beliefs I hold is that our knowledge is best shared. My Fellowship gave me a massive opportunity to learn, and I still want to engage with others as we learn from each other. I still get immense satisfaction from the small improvements riders make each day. Some ride for pleasure, while others reach the Olympic Games.
