Biography

I am a relationship and family counsellor and supervisor with a particular interest in creative counselling using writing, play and the arts. I travelled to Australia and the USA in 2018 and 2019 to study adult relationships where Asperger's or autism is a factor. I was lucky enough to work with leading expert Prof Tony Attwood, at his clinics in Brisbane and Petrie, and to visit The Garden project in Littleton, Colorado.

Since returning home I have been working with many couples and families where autism is a factor and have been developing new ways of working with the frequent problems that arise in neurodiverse families. I have taken up a role as Chair of Lapidus International, an expressive arts organisation that harnesses the power of writing and words for wellbeing and good mental health. Writing is one very effective and cheap way in which anyone can find out more about themselves and their relationships, and have a chance to reflect on their life goals.

My Fellowship has been invaluable in raising my expertise and enthusiasm for this work and my goal is to help people with autism and their partners to create successful and satisfying relationships.
