Biography
I have been a lifelong champion of the sport of rowing. Now retired from teaching, I have coached rowing since 1968, including club, university and school crews, in both the state and private sectors.
My Fellowship in 1970 investigated rowing training methods in West Germany, which I subsequently developed and applied in the UK. My crews won 36 junior national titles, one senior title, two events at Henley Royal Regatta, and ten medals at the World Junior Championships.
After taking an MSc in Sport Science at Brunel University in 2008, I co-translated Handbuch Rudertraining (Manual for Rowing Training) from German in 2010. I am currently a tutor and assessor for the British Rowing L2 and L3 certificate in Coaching Rowing.
