Biography
At the time of my Fellowship in 1979 I was a non-commissioned officer in the Royal Air Force Police. I was subsequently commissioned into the Security (Provost) Branch of the Royal Air Force (RAF). I retired from the service in 1994 and established an independent security consultancy company which operated globally.
I am now retired and volunteer as the Chair of the Independent Monitoring Board (IMB) at one of Her Majesty's prisons. I am also the IMB Regional Representative for the East Midlands covering 13 IMB prison boards.
My Fellowship was related to Scouting and I travelled to the USA to investigate best practices from the Boy Scouts of America and to western Europe to learn more about Scouting for families in the military with the Boy Scouts in western Europe. A few years later I was appointed an assistant district commissioner whilst serving in Berlin.
