Biography

I am a fishing vessel skipper owner and Master 200 Tons for Workboats.

My Fellowship explored the associated problems in setting up a shellfish hatchery. The Wash was not producing enough mussel spat to support its fishery and had not done so for over 15 years. Numerous factors were being blamed with no real evidence.

With the help of funding and Stirling University I undertook some basic research, using my findings from my Fellowship. This work showed that the people I had met and talked with during my Fellowship had introduced me to research that should have been undertaken in the past. Also it showed that a computer model of the Wash had been produced without this research being carried out, so this was not accurate. Unfortunately this led to some controversy and I had to end the project.
