Biography

After 40 years travelling the world solving industrial pollution control problems, I retired at the age of 55. My international work was recognised in 1992 with the award of an OBE. I visited over 40 countries, very often spending more than 200 days a year away from the UK.

On my retirement I decided to engage in voluntary and community work. This has included 15 years as a magistrate, 15 years as a volunteer at the Imperial War Museum aviation branch, and nine years as a member of my local district council.

In my current community work I am a trustee and volunteer at a local aviation museum, a committee member of a garden support group for the University of Leicester Botanic Garden, vice-chairman of my local parish council and heritage warden for my local area.
