Biography
I am Chief Executive of the Adult Dyslexia Organisation (ADO), founded in 1991, when I was diagnosed dyslexic.
My Fellowship in 2013 was titled e-Learning, Assistive Technology, Distance Learning Supporting Dyslexia/Overlapping Conditions, and for my research I travelled to Australia, Japan, Singapore and the USA.
My Fellowship enables me to enhance the work that we were engaged with alongside the UK Government's e-learning Strategy Unit, prison service intranets, UFI and Learn Direct's 2,000 centres, and the 6,000 e-learning centres they supported.
I have continued to support groups all over the UK and around the world on social media platforms, and benefit from our mutual exchange of information.
The ADO is the national body for adult dyslexics and is run by dyslexics for dyslexics and all those who are concerned with adult dyslexia. It provides a wide range of services, both to the public and to professionals through advising, supporting and enabling dyslexic adults. The principal aim is to create awareness about dyslexia, and to ensure that the needs of dyslexics are considered in the design and delivery of services.
The Fellowship enabled me to enhance a lifetime goal to travel the world and leave a legacy.
