Biography
I undertook my Fellowship exploring educational philosophies across India, Tanzania and the UK quite some years ago when I was at the start of my teaching career. Now with almost two decades of experience behind me, I have really come to appreciate the profound effect this early experience has had on my perspective and deeper understandings.
I've mainly worked in International Baccalaureate World Schools with my passion of 'inquiry' at the heart of everything. I presented a workshop (entitled Knowing What to Question and Questioning What We Know) to leaders in education at the Annual IB Conference for Africa, Europe and the Middle East, held in Rome in 2014.
This successful foray in presenting educational workshops led me to my current role with SKY Schools where I am helping its launch in the UK – an exciting innovation in addressing the mental health needs of our youth in today's uncertain times. The SKY (Sudarshan Kriya Yoga) workshops unite cognitive processes with actual physiological tools that students can learn to help manage their stress. It has helped not only scores of teenagers overcome anxiety but also relieved the pressure on teachers by their resultant behavioural changes.
