Biography
As a volunteer search dog handler and a member of Mountain Rescue, I wanted to know more about different techniques of training search dogs.
My Fellowship focused on the training of search and rescue dogs in the United States. Once back home I set out the search dog training standards for SARDA Wales and was a founder member of the National Search And Rescue Dog Association for the UK and Ireland. There is now a standard for mountain, lowland-urban, water and trailing search dogs, still being adapted as the type of 'call-outs' change.
