I am a singer, kora player and composer who is passionate about co-creating new music with people in health and social care settings, with a specialism in working in hospitals with people living with a diagnosis of dementia.

I set up an Arts Council-funded project in 2016 called So Many Beauties. We have delivered a number of large-scale public events that have featured music co-created with dementia care communities. These included Manchester's first dementia-friendly music festival at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester in 2019. This brought together key organisations and stakeholders including Manchester Camerata, Music in Hospitals and Care, Halle, Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM), Dementia UK, Dementia United, Salford Institute for Dementia and many others.

We deliver training to student and professional musicians for work in hospitals and residential care settings. Most recently, since January 2020, we have been working on increasing ethnic representation in the music for dementia workforce and have recruited five new artists from different ethnic backgrounds. During the Covid-19 pandemic, we worked together to create new dementia-friendly music celebrating diversity.
