Biography
I am a psychologist, education researcher and social entrepreneur who has developed innovative projects with schools, professionals and civic and social organisations that bring about change to ensure children and young people flourish.
I am currently working for Redbridge Council, leading the creation of a community and health hub programme in Seven Kings. This project will see the co-location of North East London NHS Foundation Trust (NELFT) community health services, GP surgeries, children's centres, the voluntary and community sector services, a cafe, library and community spaces, with a view to creating new and innovative programmes and approaches to supporting the health and learning of local people.
My Fellowship was about learning from place-based, collective impact, community-led projects that are working together in neighbourhoods in the USA and Brazil to create social infrastructures and programmes that improved children's health and education outcomes. I spent lots of time with children's zones and promise neighbourhoods.
I was interested in this because I was working as a community organiser and I wanted to bring this learning to the UK. I went on to establish www.pact-citizens.org and www.connectioninmind.co.uk.
