Biography
I was lucky enough to secure a Fellowship in 2017 to travel to the USA and study storytelling. I'm a documentary producer in my day job and was particularly interested in the new wave of podcasts coming from the United States at the time. Spearheaded by Serial, these podcasts were smart, relevant, fascinating and, crucially, they could make money.
The idea of my Fellowship was to investigate the process of storytelling from the side of the content producers, to find new ways of story hunting and to find out how to interest people in complicated scientific stories. Through the course of my travels, I interviewed many producers, directors, presenters, musicians and artists.
Since my Fellowship I have developed and produced many documentaries and used a lot of the techniques and workflows that I learnt on my trip.
