Biography

I am a headteacher in a Social, Emotional Mental Health school in Liverpool and I work for the local authority two days per week delivering training on emotional health and wellbeing (EHW). My 2020 Fellowship researched how to mitigate the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences, trauma and attachment with early interventions, training and awareness with a multi-agency, community approach.

I have written and delivered training to people from nurseries, from primary, secondary and special education, as well as to police officers, school nurses, housing officers, social workers, therapists, adult mental health teams and alternative providers – to date over 250 people have completed the EHW course. Parents from all over the region have been able to access the parenting course.

Together we are planning a conference to bring everyone, both professionals and parents, to continue to develop connections and ongoing discussion on how to bring the community together. The 100 per cent positive feedback, full courses through word of mouth, opportunity to research abroad, and the opportunity to embed an approach across a whole city is a possibility thanks to this Fellowship.
