Biography
I was privileged to be awarded a Fellowship in the Young People theme. My Fellowship has provided the foundation for all of my future work. During my Fellowship I went to Seattle and Chicago in the USA, and visited various places in Germany and Luxembourg researching interactive music education in children's museums.
In Seattle, I was fortunate to observe Ted Rosenberger who ran pre-school music classes in his home. I was inspired by his work and upon return to Wales I started my own business, Miwsig Meithrin. I also undertook music education training courses and have never stopped learning. I am now qualified in both Kodaly and Dalcroze Eurhythmics (music education approaches).
In the 20 years since travelling, I have had a variety of jobs, but all have been linked by music education. I am currently employed by Sistema Cymru, Codi'r To, a charity working in two schools in north Wales. I am responsible for the work with Foundation Stage children (3 to 7 years) and do weekly musicianship sessions with them as well as organising projects to enrich their education. I am also Lead Education Practitioner for Ensemble Cymru.
