Lucy is a resettlement worker for the Refugee council and founder of Baby Week Leeds. Lucy’s Fellowship in 2013 took her to the USA and Brazil to explore how to enable parental involvement in urban areas of social deprivation. In 2016, building on her findings from Brazil’s successful Semana do Bebe, an early years initiative which helps raise awareness of children's critical growth stages, Lucy pitched the idea to a group of leadership representatives in maternity and early years. Subsequently, the UK became the first English speaking country to adapt the Baby Week model. Now in its 8th year, Baby Week has been adopted by 12 other cities which have created their own toolkit to help it become nationally known.
Lucy Potter (CF F2013) updated us to say that Baby Week (the early years city wide initiative that she founded in 2016), following her Fellowship is now in its eighth year and is being adopted by eight other cities.
