Biography

I am Director of Rowanbank Environmental Arts & Education CIC. I develop and deliver creative environmental engagement programmes for schools, community organisations and businesses. My background is in environmental science, environmental consultancy and the performing arts. My Fellowship is about creative approaches to climate communication to mitigate and adapt to the climate crisis while taking care of people's wellbeing. Specifically, how the transformative power of the arts, nature connection and outdoor education can be used as a catalyst for social and environmental change.

This will inform the work I do with both children and adults Ð inspiring and empowering others to foster an interdisciplinary and wellbeing approach to climate justice communication, focusing on creativity and outdoor and active learning. Our methods of communicating and taking action need to evolve as the climate is changing. I will combine the scientific, artistic, restorative and collaborative climate communication ideas, tools and knowledge that I learn from my research and integrate them into my own work, and share these ideas, methods and policies with others to address climate anxiety.
