I am currently a consultant in an inner London borough, developing a new operating model for specialist services for children and young people and those at risk of getting involved in the criminal justice system. I travelled to South America and North America to explore strategies of youth engagement for disadvantaged and marginalised groups.

I wanted to travel and observe the different ways young people can be supported. I researched community-based projects, many of which had developed out of crisis and conflict, were youth led, and provided diversionary activities for young people at risk due to social, economic and environmental factors and those involved in the criminal justice system.

My career has been dedicated to finding ways of supporting young people and I am very grateful for the opportunity to take part in the Fellowship, which inspired me to continue working with young people and colleagues to bring a positive impact and to benefit communities. I have developed initiatives, raised funds for new purpose-built youth provision and ensured young people and families can express themselves, enjoy the space and, more importantly, have hope for the future.
