I am a senior tutor in dental and maxillo-facial radiography at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London, and a Fellow of the Cranfield Forensic Institute, Defence Academy of the UK.
My Fellowship in 2005 took me to South Africa, Australia, Argentina and the USA to study the development of forensic radiography. As a direct result of my travels I co-founded two international organisations, The International Association of Forensic Radiographers and the International Society of Forensic Radiology and Imaging, and co-founded the only specialised scientific journal on the subject The Journal of Forensic Imaging. Together with these and other national and international radiography organisations, I have worked to develop and publish protocols and standards in forensic radiography and establish a number of training programmes. I have recently completed a PhD by published work on this subject.
I continue to be very active in the development of forensic imaging and work closely at an international level with the many contacts that I made during my Fellowship – a unique opportunity that has had a significant impact upon this specialist field.
