Biography
My Fellowship was to study bovine mastitis control in the United States, New Zealand and Australia. My employment at the time was at the National Institute for Research in Dairying (NIRD), working with others in controlling bovine mastitis disease.
Since my Fellowship I have given talks on my findings to farming groups. On the closure of NIRD I moved to the Institute for Animal Health where my work changed to organising and supervising trials for external companies.
An aside from my experience was always to ask scientists who regularly came to NIRD, 'have you received the information and help that you wanted?'. I asked because I was often shown what my hosts thought I wanted.
After I retired I became a self-employed handyman, often helping single people who were unable to carry out minor maintenance to their homes. Unfortunately, the time has come when I now need assistance due to my age.
