Biography

I was born in 1940 in London with bombs falling and doodlebugs flying overhead. From the age of 20, I worked in medical research at the Postgraduate Medical School, Hammersmith Hospital, initially in the problem of transplantation of the kidney and subsequently in the investigation and care of patients with cardiovascular disease.

My Fellowship in 1967 was to visit North America to study the (then new) concept of coronary care units. In 1983 I became a mature undergraduate at Cambridge University. On graduating, I moved to York University to manage their Department of Computer Science, retiring in 2000. I was ordained as a priest in the Church of England in 2003 and have worked in the Derwent Ings Benefice, York ever since as a 'perpetual' curate or associate minister (non stipendiary, of course).
