Biography

I am a doctor with a focus on combatting homelessness and an interest in new technology.

While at medical school I was President of Imperial Soup Run, a student society with 300 members that helped the homeless community. Alongside this, I volunteered at soup kitchens and homeless shelters, joined night shifts with homeless community mental health teams in London and set up opportunities for other students to get involved with homelessness charities.

My Fellowship is about understanding how public sector actors have utilised artificial intelligence (AI) and data science to tackle homelessness. Its focus is on building a bureaucratic roadmap that shows the institutional factors that facilitate or limit the use of new technology in tackling homelessness.

Questions around data privacy, explainability of AI models and organisational inertia are common when discussing the application of AI in any context. My hope for this Fellowship is that it can provide a roadmap that encourages the responsible use of new technology in tackling homelessness.
